Research interests:

I am interested in understanding the process of adsorption on carbonate surfaces including both calcite and naturally occurring chalk. I will investigate the adsorption of different elements such as oil components, magnesium and sulphate and then use the results to study the controls on adsorption. Furthermore I will examine the role of organic compounds with respect to diminished or increased adsorption. Furthermore I am interested in the growth of calcite on a nanometer scale and how growth is inhibited by certain elements. Ways to inactivate inhibition will be explored.
