Biography

Peggy studied meteorology at the University of Leipzig, Germany, form where she graduated in spring 2008. In the framework of her Diploma thesis at the Leibniz Institute for Tropospheric Research (TROPOS), she worked with in-situ instruments for measurements of aerosol microphysical properties and joined a three-month field campaign in China (CAREBeijing-2007).

After a few months as a research assistant at TROPOS Leipzig, She joined the Department of Meteorology at Stockholm University (MISU), Sweden, for her PhD studies. At MISU she shifted the focus of her research from in-situ observation at the Earth’s surface to active (height-resolved) remote sensing measurements with lidar to study aerosol and cloud optical and microphysical properties in the upper troposphere and stratosphere. In the framework of her PhD, Peggy was the main responsible scientist for the lidar at Esrange, northern Sweden.

Peggy moved to Leeds in 2014 to join the Arctic Cloud Summer Experiment (ACSE) research project led by Ian Brooks. Further information regarding the project can be found here.
