The Salt RangeThe southern edge of the Himalayas in Pakistan is a chain of hills called the Salt Range. Here the rocks are uplifted on a thrust fault and carried south onto the plains beyond.

Siwaliks rocks.Detritus shed from the Himalayas - forming deposits locally called the Siwaliks, are themselves faulted as the crustal thickening continues remorselessly.
