Research topics within VSG
  • Studying the petrogenesis of within-plate magmatism, with a particular focus on Europe and the Mediterranean region.

  • Seismic tomography and geophysical and petrological tracing the upper mantle plumes and subducted slabs.

  • magmatism associated with the India-Asia collision zone

  • Interpretation of 3-D seismic data from the continental margins to deduce the volcanic architecture.

Volcanology- related research projects I am working on:
  • Deciphering magma mixing.

  • The evolution of the magmatic system of Italian Stromboli and other Italian volcanoes.

  • Post-collisional magmatism of the northern Tibetan and Armenian Plateaus.

  • Harzburgite-lherzolite mantle xenoliths from Spain.

  • Tertiary-Quaternary intra-plate magmatism in Europe and its relationship to mantle dynamics.

  • Late Palaeozoic intra- and pericratonic basins on the East European Craton and its margins.
