Looking into the Chartreuse Hills, to the SE from the edge of the Jura anticlines.  Many of the prominent white cliffs are bands of Urgonian limestone, repeated by successive thrusts.  These are evident on the cross-section which runs through this countryside. The low wooded ridge (behind the fields) contains the St Christophe outcrops.
