This is Elliott and Johnson's (1980) cross-section through Foinaven, based on the original survey work of Cadell some one hundred years earlier! This section became Boyer and Elliott's (1982) type example of a hinterland-dipping duplex. There is a nice, outcrop-scale example of these structures near Frieisgill (the Beyond-Hope duplex) and in a stream section on nearby Conamheall.
