"Summer social - gliding and BBQ":
Gliding places are now full but there is no limit on numbers for the BBQ. Please just let Lindsay know if you are planning on coming so she can get enough food. Her email address is below.
Experience the weather in motion in a glider at Yorkshire Gliding Club, and see the atmosphere from a different perspective! Fly in a two-seat glider with a qualified instructor from Sutton Bank airfield, perched on the edge of the beautiful Yorkshire Moors. Those not wishing to fly can join us for a BBQ to enjoy the sun setting over the Vale of York.
We would aim to leave Leeds around 4pm, and expect to arrive back in Leeds around 11pm, after the BBQ and sunset. You are welcome to make your own way there but if you are intending to fly please be there and ready by 5:30pm at the latest. Cost is £60 per person, for a flight lasting approximately 20-25 minutes.
Please email Lindsay on l.bennett(at)see.leeds.ac.uk to register your interest in the BBQ. And of course, there are no guarantees about the weather! So if we can't fly no one will pay but there will still be the BBQ to enjoy.
