Latest work from our Economics of Land Degradation Initiative project

Lindsay Stringer presented the findings of the recent Economics of Land Degradation project "Assessing Sustainable Land Management in semi-arid rangelands" (which also involved Nicola Favretto and Andy Dougill, along with co-investigators from Birmingham City University and the University of Botswana) to the UN's Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean in Santiago, Chile last week.

MSc Sustainability Field Course to Tanzania

The Tanzania field course runs as part of the MSc Sustainability (Environment and Development) programme and provides students with the opportunity to gain first hand field and research experience in a rural part of Africa.  The field course will run this April for the 4th consecutive year.

Environment and Development group members are playing a key role in the University's Making a Difference Campaign, a new major fundraising initiative supporting projects in areas that are critical to both environment and society, as well as helping young people from less privileged backgrounds to aim for a place at University and creating new inspirational opportunities for our students.
