SEE Photo Competition 2013

Enter your images and you could win a prize.  Plus we hope to use the winning entries to publicise the School!

There are four categories:

  • Natural World
  • People and Culture
  • Fieldwork
  • Life at SEE (photos of students and staff at work)

Submit one high quality resolution electronic copy and one high quality print (A4 size maximum) to Sue Hobson (Reception) by 4pm, Monday 30th September 2013. The entries will be displayed in the Common Room from Monday 7th October to Friday 11th October. Winners will be announced the following week.

Terms and Conditions

  • Photos can be submitted in any one of four categories: Natural World; People and Culture; Fieldwork; or Life at SEE.
  • Entries are restricted to one per person per category. A maximum of four entries per individual are allowed.
  • One high resolution (minimum size 1Mb) electronic copy and one hardcopy of each photo entry should be submitted to Sue Hobson (Reception).
  • Deadline for submission is 4pm, Monday 30th September 2013.
  • Hard copy prints should be of good print quality and to a maximum size of A4.
  • All photos must have been taken by the person submitting the image, no entries on behalf of a third party are allowed.
  • Please write your name, contact details, competition category, title and location on the back of the photo. An optional description may also be included (this information can also be written on the back of the photo).
  • The competition is open to staff and students from the School of Earth & Environment, University of Leeds only.
  • Photos will be displayed in the Common Room from Monday 7th October to Friday 11th October inclusive.
  • The winners will be selected via a voting system which will operate only during the period that photos are on display. One vote per person is allowed and votes can only be submitted by staff or students from the University of Leeds.
  • The photo with the greatest number of votes will win the competition overall. Photos with the most votes from each of the other categories will also be identified as runners up.
  • Winners will be announced the following week.
  • Photographs may be used for publicity and marketing purposes by the School. Should you wish your entry not to be used for these purposes this should be clearly stated in writing at time of submission.
