Biography

As Research Impact Support Manager my role is to support the School’s researchers to consider, plan for and report on the impacts of their research beyond the University. This involves working with the School’s research partners including businesses, government agencies and charities to understand and evaluate how earth and environmental science research is used in practice. I work closely with researchers to monitor the difference that their research makes to solving problems, developing new products or services, managing environmental risk, or driving policy changes.

I am a member of the School Research Committee and provide direct support to the Deputy Director for Research (Impact) on the implementation of the School's research impact plan.

I have worked at the School of Earth and Environment since May 2012. Before joining the University of Leeds, I worked as an environmental consultant specialising in applied oceanography, with a particular interest in wave behaviour and coastal flood inundation. During this time I delivered projects for clients in the energy industry and in government agencies.
