Dr Mette Termansen
Visiting Professor of Environmental Economics
Email address: M.Termansen@leeds.ac.uk
Biography
Qualifications: MSc Forestry, (Copenhagen), 1994; MSc Environmental Economics, (York), 1996; DPhil in Environmental Economics and Environmental Management, (York), 2001; Pgcert HE, (York), 2006.
Research Interests: Natural Resource Economics, Ecological Economic Modelling, Agent Based Modelling, GIS and Spatial Modelling.
Mette Termansen has been appointed Research Professor in Environmental Economics at the University of Aarhus October 2009. Prior to her appointment Mette was a senior lecturer in Ecological Economics at the School of Earth and Environment. Her general research area is the application and development of modeling approaches to understand linkages between ecological and economic systems. Her PhD developed spatio-temporal modelling approaches in forest economics to enable environmental interactions to be taken into account. Since then, she has worked on developing spatially disaggregated recreation modelling evaluating reafforesation policies in Denmark funded by the Danish Socio Economic Research Council. Furthermore, she has worked on the development of modelling tools to enable assessment of plant biodiversity impacts of climate and land use change in the UK funded by the British Natural Environment Research Council (NERC).
PhD supervision: I am happy to supervise PhD students in the area of ecological economics, environmental economics, natural resource economics and integrated ecological economic modeling.
