Biography

  • I research continental rift zones using earthquake seismology and gravity methods
  • Current research projects are based in the Faroe Islands and the East African Rift in Ethiopia
  • Other interests: crustal, lithospheric and mantle structure; anisotropy and lithospheric terrane fabrics; hotspot (plume) magmatism; high-velocity lower crustal layers (underplate); ambient noise tomography; attenuation; and more!
  • I teach MSc courses in Seismic Reflection Acquisition and Seismic Reflection Processing using SeisSpace/ProMAX (SOEE5165).
  • Geophysical software maintenance and MSc/UG individual project data provision/organisation.
  • Fieldwork geophysics teaching including: resistivity; gravity; dGPS; seismic reflection/refraction; EM; GPR; etc.
