The School implemented the University Office Waste recycling scheme as a pilot scheme in 2004 and extended it across the School in 2006. Between 2004 and 2007 the office waste recycling rate in the School has increased from 28.4% to 62.1%.

There are now recycling points in the Environment Building for the following items:
- Whilst the work on a single building for the whole School is underway, some staff are now housed in other buildings. There should also be recycling points in each of these other buildings. If this is not the case, please contact Janet Willis and request this facility.
- Paper (all paper & thin card)
- All clean plastic (drinks bottles, milk bottles, yogurt cartons, carrier bags, cellophane & wrappings)
- Glass
- Cans (all drinks & food cans – rinsed)
- Food Waste (any except raw meat)
