Clean Laboratory

This facility is designed for research where contamination by extrenal processes may be significant. The use of sediments and strong/concentrated reagents is limited to enable, for example, preparations and analysis of solutions containing trace elements at ppb levels. Research projects into carbon sequestration and experimental studies of trace element incorporation into marine carbonate minerals have been performed in this lab.

This wet chemistry laboratory is equipped with a filtered air supply and ultraclean water (18MΩ) required to perform experiments with low levels of trace elements.
