Introduction

The Atmospheric Science Laboratories are located in the Earth and Environment Building, University of Leeds. Activities cover a number of aspects of the atmospheric sciences from laboratory based process studies through to participation in major international field campaigns.

We provide specialist services to University staff as well as external academic and corporate customers.

Equipment

We have a number of commercial instruments in addition to bespoke instruments which have been developed in Leeds.

  • Compact Lightweight Aerosol Spectrometer probe (CLASP), this is a novel instrument that has been developed at the University of Leeds. In particular, CLASP has been designed for use as part of an aerosol flux package, tether-sonde, and for use on near surface air-sea interface buoys.
