Peralkaline Granites
Peralkaline granites (22-26Ma) from the Afara Dara region in the west of the Afar Depression. These granites are found in the east, west and north of Afar. They intrude the late Proterozoic basement, the Mesozoic marine sequences and the older volcanic sequences (Varet, 1978).
