Overview

MEnv, BSc Sustainability and Environmental Management (International) is a four-year variant of our BSc Sustainability and Environmental Management programme, and the first two years are common to both. This Integrated Masters degree forms part of the School’s long-established International Study Year Abroad programme.  Students enjoy the unique opportunity of spending a year in North America or Australia, and take a final year of Masters-level modules and research activity back in Leeds. You will benefit enormously from your year abroad as it broadens your horizons and demonstrates a high degree of independence, attributes that are highly valued by prospective employers.

The course focuses on decisions and actions at the interface between human activity and the environment. You will explore the environmental, economic and social implications of decision making, and the strategies involved in finding sustainable solutions to environmental problems.

Throughout your studies you will draw on the disciplines of environmental science and ecology, developing the knowledge and skills that underpin our understanding of sustainability and environmental management. Optional  learning opportunities in politics, policy, economics and law also help you to understand and evaluate societies’ roles in, and interaction with, changes in the natural world.
