SEE Behind the Scenes Events in February
All staff and students in SEE are invited to these free events exploring the labs and facilities in the School normally only available to staff and researchers.
SEE Behind the Scenes of ESSI: 2nd February, 4 – 6.30pm
SEE Behind the Scenes of IGT: 23rd February, 4 – 6.30pm
Both events will include a brief welcome and introduction to the Research Institute running the event followed by a guided tour and ending in refreshments where you will have the chance to chat informally to staff about their research and work within the School.
Earth Surface Science Institute (ESSI): 2nd February 2012
The tour will include:
- The geochemistry labs
- Sorby Environmental Fluid Dynamics lab
- Engineering geology
- Palaeo preparation lab
Institute of Geophysics and Tectonics (IGT): 23rd February 2012
The tour will include:
- The 3D visualisation suite
- Geochronology lab
- Laser Ablation ICP-MS lab
- Seismic display and field equipment
- Specialist computing
There will also be the opportunity to find out about further study in these areas.
