How to Apply
We recommend that you apply for taught postgraduate courses on-line. Alternatively if you prefer a hard copy form you can obtain a downloadable version from the University web site. You will need to complete the application form and submit it with the following documentation:
- Two Academic References on Letter headed paper (or download the form at the on-line applications website)
- Copy of your Degree Transcript* with modular breakdown, including final degree classification (or if you are yet to complete your degree, please send a transcript of your marks so far)
- Copy of C.V. / Resume
- Statement of Motivation (200 to 400 Words) outlining your reasons for applying for your chosen course.
All of these documents can be uploaded to your online application or emailed to us at apply-masters(at)see.leeds.ac.uk. Please ensure that your name, ID number and the name of the course that you are applying for are in the subject line of any emails that you send us. Documents should be emailed or uploaded in JPG, PDF or word format.
*Note: You do not need to provide a transcript if you studied for your undergraduate degree at University of Leeds (graduating after 2001), as we can access your marks.
To be able to consider your application we need to receive all of the above documents, preferably at the same time that you submit your application. If you are not able to supply any of these documents at the time of your initial application please do so within 6 weeks.
When to Apply
We take applications all year round and there are no specific deadlines for applications, however there are deadlines relating to Scholarships and funding so you may wish to take this in to consideration.
International students are advised to apply no later than the end of May to ensure they have sufficient time to prepare for arrival in the UK.
Application Process
How the application process works:
- Your application is received by the School
- We will acknowledge your application via email and request any documents needed to make a decision.
- When your application is complete it will be considered by the Programme Manager, the recommendation will then be communicated to you via email.
- If an offer is recommended, it will be sent for approval to Central Student Administration, when the offer is approved an official letter will be sent by post.
Note: Students in the UK may be invited for interview where a course has NERC funding or similar associated with it.
