School of Earth and Environment (SEE) Excellence Scholarships

We have a number of Excellence Scholarships available for those wishing to study a Master's programme in the School of Earth and Environment.

Who is eligible?

Any potential student who has been offered a place on any of the postgraduate Masters programmes within the School of Earth and Environment.

How are they awarded?

Based on academic achievement/excellence and experience. We recognise students with outstanding ability who have demonstrated interest and action in the topic of their programme or related issues during their time at University, in their local community or workplace.

How much are they worth?

The awards range from £2,000 for UK / EU students to £6,000 for international students.

How many are available?

There are 12 SEE Scholarships available.

International Excellence Scholarship: £6,000 x 2 for full time international fee paying students. Applicable for SEE Sustainability Masters programmes only.

Home/EU Excellence Scholarship: £2,000 x 10 for full time UK/EU fee paying students. Applicable to all SEE Masters programmes.

How to apply

The deadline for applications is 30 June 2012 (for entry in September 2012). Successful applicants will be notified within two weeks of the deadline and must respond accepting the scholarship within 14 days. Download application form (Word doc).

Previous SEE students have been successful in receiving awards from: Commonwealth Scholarship Commission, Ford Foundation, Santander, Tetley and Lupton, and British Chevening Scholarships. Deadlines will vary according to the individual award.

Please note: Students on the Sustainability programmes (except Environmental Consultancy and Project Management) will have the option to attend an overseas Field Trip in Semester 2 – at an additional cost of £1,200 to £1,500 (dependant on exchange rates, cost of flights and student demand).
